All registered animals wear a brass ear tag showing its number. In various shows the animals are judged in separate classes, according to their types and color, the fleece is often judged separately according to its fineness, strength and other characteristics.

Every purebred animal should be registered by ARI or other organization to get all necessary documents and a pedigree. The show quality animals should have no congenial disqualifiers to take part in the breeding program. The DNA analysis confirms the parentage.
