The association provides numerous grants for useful investigations concerning these animals and improvement of the breed. Everyone is welcome to make a donation to this charitable organization.

This organization was established by the ARI Board of Directors in Colorado in 1997. The aim of this non-profit corporation is to educate the public about these unique animals and encourage and support studies that benefit the textile industry in North America.
