Alpaca Kin

Alpaca kin are the Vicuna which picture slightly smaller features and are hunted for their fleece indicating the need to promote their conservation. Llamas were used for fiber, meat, provided transport and fuel; also they were guard animals and companions. Their fiber is very warm, but not fine enough. Vicuna has the softest coat in the world, but due to its small size these animals are hunted to obtain the fleece. This domestic animal is a member of the Camelids family, which originated in South American Andes. Its close relatives are domesticated llama and wild vicuna and guanaco.
